Ice Protector OPTIFORCE® by Landolt protects snow from heat and UV radiation, filters out other natural environmental influences and in this way largely prevents snow and glacier ice from melting away. The material is a 2-layer, needle-punched composite nonwoven. It is environment-friendly, free of harmful substances and has been used for many years in millions of square metres in below-grade construction, tunnels and hydraulic constructions all over the world.
Ice Protector has been successfully tested in Europe, preserving up to 80% of the snow and ice protected using Ice Protector. In 2008 Eiger completed the first U.S. test at three major ski areas in Colorado including Aspen Snowmass. Additionally, we recently provided Ice Protector to Center of Wonder's experimental sculptural experiment, Snowtorium in Jackson, WY.
